Translucent Inanga Pounamu Chestplate (NZ Jade) - XLarge
Double-sided, 118mm wide by 57mm high by 10mm thick, hand-carved genuine, translucent inanga pounamu (New Zealand jade) pendant with adjustable black cord. It comes from the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand, the South-Westland area. Unique bluish inanga shade with some blackish pattern.
The chestplate is like a shield, it represents strength and gives the wearer protection through life. This exact piece is quite a contemporary form, I carved it with ‘the less is more’ philosophy. The form is quite a nice touchstone, it felt like a flow of positive energy while carving it, it could be ideal for meditation.
